For years, our mothers have told us that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Well, it seems Taco Bell, an international chain with several locations in Huntsville, is jumping on the breakfast burrito bandwagon.
Taco Bell launched its FirstMeal breakfast menu Thursday. Eleven menu items provide a Mexican twist on traditional breakfast favorites, like a soft flour tortilla filled with sausage, eggs and melted cheese.
The FirstMeal menu debuted in 10 Western states, including California and Colorado. Unless they head west, Taco Bell fans in Huntsville won't have access to the breakfast options until the fast food giant unrolls the plan nationally, which isn't expected to happen until 2014.
Of course, experts say the best breakfasts are those that are low in fat and your Huntsville Healthy Living Examiner did not see nutritional information for the new breakfast menu on the Taco Bell website. And keep in mind that the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention reports that individuals who eat fast food one or more times per week are at increased risk for weight gain, overweight, and obesity.
So, as with all of your indulgences, remember moderation.
