Budzien Wins B1G Special Teams Player of the Week in His Final Game

In his final game in a Northwestern uniform, Kicker Jeff Budzien won the Big Ten special teams player of the week. The senior from Hartland, WI finished his career 280 career points. He set the record in Northwestern's 37-34 victory saturday over Illinois. Budzien had three field goals and four extra points to finish with 104 points in the season. He leads Ohio State's Carlos Hyde by eight points. Hyde can pass him in the Big Ten championship game against Michigan State saturday.

In addition to setting the school career scoring record, Budzien also set a school record when he made his 21st field goal of the season in the second quarter.

Budzien claims his second Big Ten Special Teams player of the week. He won last season after kicking five field goals and an extra point in a 22-13 win over Boston College in September 2012.

He was named first team all Big Ten for the second year in a row. This year he was the unanimous all first team kicker.
