Buddy Valastro to save bakeries on new show

Buddy Valastro, star of TLC reality series "Cake Boss," "Kitchen Boss," and "Cake Boss: Next Great Baker," has a fourth series in the works, tentatively titled, "Bakery Go Time." Valastro, who runs Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken, NJ with his large family, will help other family-run bakeries across the country. On his competition series, "Cake Boss: Next Great Baker," his catchphrase is "it's go time" after explaining the latest challenge to the contestants. Therefore, this title fits the new endeavor as Valastro takes on the task of saving a different bakery each episode.

The premise will have Buddy spend a week with the bakery, helping them with business problems as well as interpersonal issues. The one-hour show hopes to premiere this summer. For more information about applying for Buddy's expertise, check with TLC for what to submit.

Valastro's other shows have done well on TLC. "Cake Boss" is well into its fifth season, "Cake Boss: Next Great Baker" will finish airing its third season this month, and "Kitchen Boss" ran for over fifty episodes in daytime television. All three series feature members of Valastro's extended family and emphasize the importance of those relationships, making the new show's focus on family-run bakeries fit well.

Valastro's family business, Carlo's Bakery, has expanded in recent years and celebrated 100 years in business in 2010. Additionally, the Norwegian Cruise Line ship "Breakaway" will feature a miniature Carlo's Bakery, where passengers will be able to buy pastries, pre-custom order specialty cakes for celebrations, and take a cupcake decorating class. The ship, to be based out of New York, will debut in May.

TLC also has an open casting call going on right now for those who believe that their lives might make for interesting shows on the network.
