Buddhist Film Festival at Sacred Waters Sunday, January 15th

On Sunday, January 15th, the Buddhist Film Festival will take place at Sacred Waters Spiritual Center. The event will start at 10am and is sponsored by the Sacred Waters Buddhist Group.

There are several films that will be shown at this event:

Seven Years in Tibet: This film stars Brad Pitt and is based upon the true story of Heinrich Harrer and his friend, who escaped a British prison camp in India during World War II, crossing the Himalayas into Tibet. Harrer is known as being a mentor to the young Dalai Lama. This film will be shown at 2pm and 8pm.

Kundun: This Martin Scorcese film recounts the story of the early life of his Holiness, the Dalai Lama. This movie provides a historically accurate presentation of this man’s life. This film will be shown at noon and 6pm.

Milarepa: This is part one in the story of Milarepa, magician, murderer, and saint. Milarepa became one of Tibet’s great meditation masters and most famous saints, who lived roughly from 1050-1130. He was a murderer who came to be enlightened through very extreme measures. This film will be shown at 10am and 4pm.
