Think tattoos are the only massive piece of art you can have done to your body short of surgery? Think again. The artists at Buddha's Body Art aren't afraid to go big when it comes to either tattoos or piercings. In fact, they thrive on the challenges. What you see to the right is a corset piercing from Buddha's.
Many people have seen these in photos online, though they are normally laced to appear like the laces on a corset. These photos depict, 99% of the time, play piercings or at least improperly done piercings that will reject.
The photo above is not of a play piercing. This one was researched and took more than 2 hours to draw, with appropriate spacing and ideal placement to limit rejection possibilities, and an hour to pierce. A special barbell, known as a surface bar, was used to do this particular corset piercing.
Surface bars, dermal anchors or straight barbells made of tygon tubing are really the only appropriate barbells that can be used for a surface piercing that is not for play or temporary purposes. After the piercing heals, in 8 - 12 months, if it ever heals at all, the caps on the surface bar can be replaced with a special cap that has a hoop on top of it. Ribbon can be drawn through the hoops and tied temporarily for the unique corset piercing look.
Corset piercings like this should only be done by a very experienced piercing professional. Those who have experience with other types of surface piercings are the most likely to help you place the piercing properly and to encourage regular checkups for piercing health.
If you want a play piercing, like the video below shows, you can use captive bead rings. This allows the corset piercing to be laced immediately. They should be removed in two weeks, at the latest, to cut down on any scarring or damage.

OK, shouldn't the man with the beard wear a hair net? (Seriously?)
Nice article, but scary video.
Hair nets aren't necessary for body piercing. I don't believe I've ever seen a piercer or tattoo artist wear a hair net. I'm sure you could request it if it made you uncomfortable though.
