Bud Light Spring Jam and a whole lot more at Aspen/Snowmass

It’s almost officially time for spring skiing, and the 14th annual Bud Light Spring Jam, March 14-23, at Aspen/Snowmass is one those harbingers of the shift to spring in Colorado’s mountains, featuring competitions, concerts and parties.

The festival kicks off Friday, March 14 with a Johnny Cash cover band, Cash’d Out, headlining a massive après ski party at the base of Aspen Mountain. One Ton Pig will open the party at 3 p.m. and Cash'd Out will take the stage at 4:30 p.m.

Then on Saturday it’s KickAspen Big Air, where skiers and snowboarders compete under the lights at the base of Aspen Mountain followed by the Fallen Friends Memorial Event on Sunday. A Terrain Park Boot Camp offers both adults and kids instruction on how to slide a box or hit a rail in a mini-park on Snowmass.

Weekend two will feature the recently added banked slalom on Friday, March 21. This snowboard-only event charges down the natural terrain of Sandy Park at Snowmass, inviting riders young and old to challenge each other on banked turns.

The entertainment for week two kicks off on Friday, March 21 with the Core Party concert in downtown Aspen featuring Beats Antique, a trio of live electronic and experimental world fusion musicians.

Saturday features the Helly Hansen Battle in the Bowls. New this year, the Battle in the Bowls will offer the adventure category, a great option for families in which they will complete a course of runs with Highlands’ secrets and a number of special experiences, finding some new spots and taking home souvenirs.
