Salwa Amin, one of the stars of MTV’s “Buckwild,” was arrested in West Virginia on a felony drug possession charges with intent to deliver, TMZ reported on Monday, Feb. 11. The possession drug charges included the prescription drug oxycodone, and heroin, which is illegal. According to the Nicholas County Magistrate Court, Amin posted $200,000 bail
Last week MTV announced plans to go forward with a second season of “Buckwild.” The hit MTV reality show has been described as a “redneck version of ‘Jersey Shore,’” another huge ratings hit for MTV.
According to the police chief, the drug task of Summersville, W. Va. Got a tip that a “shipment” would be delivered to the home in Nicholas County sometime on Sunday. Reportedly “extensive surveillance was done before the officers arrested Salwa and two other men.
The police chief says that the drug task force observed a “lot of foot traffic” coming in and out of the house. Also noted is that people were staying for very brief periods of time. The police then quickly obtained a search warrant and began the raid on the home in West Virginia.
Salwa Amin, Shawn L. Booker and the owner of the home, Jason D. Jones, were found hiding in a shed in the backyard. Amin had a “quantity of oxycodone” in her purse. Booker had a “large amount of money” on his person. The police found three separate packages of heroin in the shed. Jones claimed that Booker and Amin transported the drugs to his house with intent to distribute.
