‘Buckwild’ producers to pay for Shain Gandee funeral

Detroit Television Examiner reported the news that “Buckwild” star Shain Gandee was found dead on April 1. Later that day reports came in that the family did not have the money to cover funeral expenses; fans stepped forward to help cover the cost. The charity drive fell short. On April 3, TMZ announced that the “Buckwild” producers have stepped forward to cover all of Shain’s funeral expenses.

The CEO of Parallel Entertainment, J.P. Williams, who produces the show with Zoo Productions, told TMZ the news exclusively. “Shain was a great kid with a big heart who had endless love for his mom and dad. I am from West Virginia and this show reminded me of how I grew up”, Williams stated.

The money from the donation drive will now go towards the expenses incurred by the Gandee family during the search and rescue. It will also help pay for Shain’s uncle, David Gandee, who was also found dead in the Bronco with Shain. The third person has yet to be identified. All three died from carbon monoxide poisoning.

A public memorial service will be held Sunday, April 7.
