Due to the snowstorm taking place in Atlanta over the weekend, tonight's matchup at Philips Arena of the Atlanta Hawks and the Milwaukee Bucks has been postponed.
Approximately seven inches of snow fell in metro Atlanta on Sunday and Monday, forcing almost all schools and many businesses to shut down. While the Hawks cancelled their practice session Monday afternoon, the status of tonight's game was up in the air right up to the expected 7 PM tip-off time.
While roads have gotten better during the day today, conditions are still not good enough for widespread travel. As a result, the game scheduled for tonight has now been postponed to Tuesday, March 15. Odds are, there will not be a repeat of this snow on that date.
Hopefully, both the Bucks and Hawks will be able to leave Atlanta for their next games on Wednesday. The Hawks are scheduled to play at Toronto and Milwaukee has a home game against San Antonio.
The Hawks entered the game at 25-14, while the Bucks entered with a vastly underperforming record of 14-21. The Hawks have not yet lost a game in 2011, winning four straight games over the Clippers, Kings, Jazz, and Pacers. Despite the streak, they are still five games back of the Heat for first place in the Southeast Division.
