Buccaneers new helmet: Tampa Bay to unveil new team logo

Buccaneers new helmet and team logo will be unveiled this week. The new look will be announced on the NFL Network Thursday night. According to Fox 13 Tampa Bay, Warren Sapp, NFL commentator and long time Buccaneer could hardly contain his excitement.

'New @TBBuccaneers helmet coming for 2014! Wait til you see this thing!!' he tweeted Tuesday.

Buccaneers new helmet is the first redesign since 1997. Old school fan favorite "Bucco Bruce" was replaced in 1997 with the current pirates flag with a skull and crossed swords. The current design represents some of the teams best days as they made the playoffs seven times with it including a Super Bowl championship.

Hopefully the Buccaneers new helmet and logo design will complement their brand new head coach and general manager. The team needs to turn things around here having losing seasons posted in four of the last five. And fans were very vocal and attached to "Bruce", so this redesign had better be really impressive.

The only hint that Sapp offered besides his excited tweet was that the facemask would be chrome. Maybe the Bucs are going with a futuristic look like a pirate version of the Terminator. That would be very impressive indeed.
