As expected, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had their new helmet and log revealed on the evening of Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, and it's different but not. The helmet and logo were officially revealed by the NFL Network on their Twitter account, and it's pretty good looking.
Former Bucs' star, and Hall of Famer, Warren Sapp appeared with current Bucs All-Pro Gerald mcCoy to reveal the new look on NFL Network's "NFL Total Access." It's really not a bad look, but there isn't a whole lot of change.
The new Buccaneers' helmet itself is a bright pewter color and the facemask has changed from black to silver.
Most notably different is the logo which is about three times larger than the old one was on the side of the helmets. It also has a changed looked in the face of the skull to be a little meaner looking as it presents a menacing expression.
This is rather reminiscent of what the Seattle Seahawks did a few years ago when they changed their logo to one that was a tad more aggressive.
On the Buccaneers' new helmet, the new flag is also not as tattered and torn as the old one.
As many hoped for, Bucco Bruce did not return nor did the orange creamsicle uniforms.
