On Tuesday the 22th of January in 2013, Buca di Beppo in White Marsh hosted an exclusive celebration for the grand opening of their second store in Maryland. It was the biggest Italian feast of this Winter at White Marsh Mall and that’s amore. Who knew one establishment could hold so much tomato sauce in one building. Buca di Beppo is a one stop shop for everything Italian from meatballs, pasta to salads, pizza, their signature jars of tomato sauce and more meatballs. Talk about a Bucanomics reenactment moment!
The celebration took place from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. serving heavy hors d'oeuvres, cocktails and wine. The pasta sauce was flowing from every corner of the building; the hors d'oeuvres range from their signature meatballs to chicken on a stick, mozzarella inspired appetizers and the signature cocktail for the evening was their White Sangria which was memorable. The alcoholic beverage list seems to suit ladies who love pretty cocktails such as Sangria and Margarita; continued with men that enjoy top shelf spirits like Ciroc and Belvedere. The coolest part of it all was the festive musical environment with walls draped in Italian Art, bright light bulbs and Italian music playing in the background. During the celebration attendees were allowed to witness their ribbon cutting and marinara handprint ceremony. Oh, did I mention the staff serenaded the guests by singing happy birthday.
Talk about a cozy comfortable place to enjoy some of the best Italian food in Maryland. Did you know? Buca di Beppo did a “52 Meatball Salute” in honor of the Baltimore Ravens and Ray Lewis. Oh yeah, the meatballs priced at $5.99 each live up to their reputation. Nevertheless, don’t sleep on the specialty pasta because it was yummy and fresh with modern elements of delight. Dessert was delicious which included chocolate covered strawberries, homemade chocolate chip cookies, and cheesecake balls covered in chocolate and nuts, warm brownies and chocolate chip cannoli. The staff members were friendly and attentive and the management was personable. This is definitely an establishment to entertain large crowds, parties, family gatherings and friend socials. I even overheard several female guests state they would be ordering Buca di Beppo signature dishes for their Super Bowl parties. It’s so ironic because, I believe this restaurant is going to be one of those establishments with a waitlist for sitting because the food is delightful and truly comforting. Original Italian continues to arrive in White Marsh, Buca di Beppo restaurant knows how to roll out the red carpet for its customers and guess what people it’s paved in tomato sauce.
