Bubbling Cauldron is one of the newest "Magic: The Gathering" cards spoiled today July 2, 2013 from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming "Magic: 2014 Core Set." Revealed in an article by Bruce Richard on DailyMTG.com, Bubbling's power relies upon that of two other integral cards for it to interact with: Bogbrew Witch and Festering Newt.
Bubbling Cauldron - 2
Artifact (Uncommon)
1, Tap, Sacrifice a creature: You gain 4 life.
1, Tap, Sacrifice a creature named Festering Newt: Each opponent loses 4 life. You gain life equal to the life lot this way.
By itself Bubbling Caulron can help you gain value from creatures before they die, four life at a time. It's its power to be found specifically by Bogbrew Witch, and interaction with Festering Newt, which makes Bubbling Cauldron so powerful. After activating Bubbling Cauldron and sacrificing Festering Newt, your opponent will lose four life and you'll gain for life (or more in a multiplayer game). Once you're out of Festering Newts you can sacrifice Bogbrew Witch to Bubbling Cauldron. With an Xathrid Necromancer on the battlefield you'll be able to create a 2/2 Zombie in the process.
One card in particular which you'll want to include in your deck is Dark Prophecy, allowing you to draw a card every time one of your creatures die. Richard suggests adding green for Deadbridge Chant in order to recur your sacrificed creatures to repeat it all over again if they aren't already dead.
How will you use Bubbling Cauldron?
