Bubble Gum Orchestra's 'Loving One Another' (Photos)

Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Michael Laine Hildebrandt just released a new music video. It’s a companion piece to the song “Loving One Another” from his recent Bubble Gum Orchestra release BGO II. Your crusty chronicler recently had the chance to chat with Hildebrandt about the new video, his current release and more. Here is the complete interview:

Phoenix: Thank you for joining me. Thank you for sharing with my readers. For the benefit of my newer readers who haven’t read my first piece on you yet, introduce yourself to them, OK?

Hildebrandt: You are very welcome, it's my pleasure to be here with you…my name is Michael Laine Hildebrandt and I am the songwriter, music composer, singer, and all around "maestro" for the band "Bubble Gum Orchestra" based out of Dallas Texas USA.

Phoenix: Tell us about this new song and music video. What do you consider noteworthy about this specific song and video?

Hildebrandt: The name of the first single off of our brand new album titled BGO II and its video is, "Loving One Another". I sat down one day and wrote this song because I am really tired of seeing people and countries not getting along. I believe in love, not hate and I honestly think that if everyone on our planet had the opportunity and could just sit back, relax and listen to this song and then apply the message to their everyday lives, I know our world would be a much nicer place to live.

The lyrics in the chorus, "Up and down, the world goes round, being nice and loving one Another" …simply says it all. It's very upbeat and oozes positivity from start to finish. The video was conceived and directed by Aaron Fairooz of Fairooz Imaging here in Dallas. Aaron is very artistic and talented and had a great vision for my song. The story line really captures the true essence of the song and we are very happy with the end results. All the actors did a fantastic job and I am blessed to have had all these very talented people on my side to help spread some BGO love to the world.

Phoenix: Let me go “Barbara Walters” on you just once. I promise to be gentle, mmmkay? What would you say to anyone who might think your music is at times is too much like Jeff Lynne’s stuff or early E.L.O. material?

Hildebrandt: First I would say, "thank you for the compliment"! Secondly, too much like Jeff Lynne and ELO is a good thing here in BGO land. Seriously, just to let everyone know that BGO records are written and recorded out of my love of music and my personal spiritual connection to the semi orchestrated music I grew up loving… nothing more, nothing less. BGO is not a tribute or cover, but a whole new recording in the style of ELO, just the style. If anyone out there in the universe expects or wants BGO to be just be a different version of ELO, they will be very disappointed. Only Mr. Lynne can deliver a true ELO album and only I can deliver BGO.

Phoenix: Here’s the easy part. When I interview artists I give them one chance to plug anything they want. You can talk up the new video some more, promote your favorite charity or tell us about your next move.

Hildebrandt: Ok, let’s start with a new video that is in pre production for the song titled, "Carrie In My Dreams" off of our new album, BGO II. Aaron Fairooz of Fairooz Imaging will be bringing this song to life along with an awesome story line concept by Aaron and my brother Douglas Hildebrandt. Look for a summer 2013 release date for this video. Drive in movies, summertime fun, hot rods and memories of love will bring the song to life visually and give viewers an inside to the life "Carrie".

I have actually just finished writing song number 11 for the next BGO album due out in 2014. This upcoming CD has the same elements of previous BGO albums but has taken a slightly different direction musically here and there. Trumpet extraordinaire, Steve Howard of Paul McCartney and Wings will be recording on a new song titled, "There Goes My Baby" and the magic fingers of Sugarbomb frontman Les Farrington will be present on piano on a new one titled, "Lovely Days, Lovely Nights". I am thrilled with the writing and recording process and I live and breathe it every day.

Phoenix: Thanks again for spending time with me. Thanks again for sharing with my readers.

Hildebrandt: You are welcome, Thank you for this wonderful opportunity to share my love of Bubble Gum Orchestra with your readers.

There you have it, boys and girls. If you’re looking for something new, check out Bubble Gum Orchestra’s latest music video!
