Bubba the Love Sponge splits from wife

Howard Stern's close personal friend and former follow-up guy Bubba the Love Sponge has officially split from his wife Heather Clem after four and a half years of marriage.

Many members of the Howard Stern Show cast and crew attended the 2007 Florida wedding between Bubba the Love Sponge (his legal name) and wife Heather Clem, including the King of All Media himself. Howard TV video from the event provided some epic moments in HSS history, including Ronnie Mund's classic "Let's F*** Some W****s" speech.

Bubba called in to the Howard Stern Show on Thursday to make his first public statement about the break up. He told Stern's listeners that there had been no marital infidelity on his own part, but refused to comment on his wife's possible extramarital activities. Bubba chalked the split up to his own "bad prioritizing".

"It's just a long laundry list of things we need to work on...The major problem is that I"m so busy and I've got this new racetrack now...obviously I've not prioritzed correctly."

On Tuesday morning, Bubba posted a message to his Twitter account that confirmed that there would be no more progress on that "laundry list," tweeting:'

no more speculation as 2 what happened  & i spent nearly 8 great years together and i wish her & julia the very best I will always love both.

Julia is Heather's daughter from a previous marriage.

Howard Stern expressed regret for his friend's distress on Tuesday, but also told his listeners that he saw the split coming from as far back as Bubba's wedding reception.

"I leaned over to my wife and told her: 'This one ain't lasting,'" said Stern.
