When Michael Egan accused Bryan Singer of sexual abuse, it sent shockwaves through the internet. Bryan Singer is known for his work on the popular “X-Men” franchise, and Michael Egan’s lawsuit alleges that Singer used the popular comic book franchise as a lure for underage boys. While these allegations have caused outrage, a Tuesday story by the New York Daily News reports, Egan and his attorney filed new lawsuits against three more Hollywood power players as defendants.
David Alexander Neuman, Gary Wayne Goddard and Garth R. Ancier were all named as defendants in the new lawsuits. In particular, Michael Egan accuses these power players of attending, “notorious parties”. In particular, the suit makes the alarming accusation that Bryan Singer and these men operated a “sordid sex ring”, and they further claimed that the men “groomed” young boys for abuse in the 1990’s.
A Tuesday story by CBS News reveals that Egan is claiming that these activities occurred while he was 15 to 17 years old. Once he got too old, he alleges that the men lost interest in him, and discarded him without meeting the promises for roles they had made to him. Unfortunately, this is not the first time that a major Hollywood player has been accused of vile actions. Whether any proof of these accusations truth comes forward remains to be seen, but there are millions of people watching this case.
Regardless of the high profile accusation, most industry insiders do not expect the accusation to impact “X-Men: Days of Future Past” at the box office. Due to the director's low on camera profile, it is unlikely that audiences will stay away from the film. However, if the accusations were against one of the star’s of the film, then it would be far more likely to influence box office sales.
