Bryan Rusin, Naperville, Illinois, won the 110th City Amateur at Jackson Park Golf Course in Chicago, Illinois. In the final round on Sunday, July 27, 2014, Bryan scored 71. This gave him a total score of 204. Such a score makes him the Overall Champion. (There is also a Women’s Champion.)
The Women’s Champion is Nora Lucas. Lucas’ first round score was 73. Her second round score was 69. She scored 70 in her final round. Therefore, her total was 212.
Both Bryan Rusin and Nora Lucas won $750 prize money. Such prize money is enough for each of them to buy two of those, state-of-the art, adjustable golf drivers. Such prize money is enough for both of them to pay greens fees for four rounds at Cog Hill’s ‘Dubsdread’ course, which is course #4. (The usual greens fee is $155.00.)
Two golfers finished in second place—Michael Natale and Jon Zolecki. Both had final scores of 205. In his final round, Michael scored 73. Jon scored 76 in his final round. Both won $325 prize money.
Cully Johnston, Michael Fastert and James Henderson tied for third place; all had final scores of 209. Cully’s and Michael’s, final round scores were 70. James’, final round score was 75. All won $200 prize money.
In 42nd place (Forty-five golfers played the final round.), which is last place, four golfers had final scores of 231: Christian De Lanauze, Giancarlo Molinaro, Paul Boland and Jimmy Campbell. Of course, last place finishers did not receive any prize money.
On Sunday, fluffy, white cumulus clouds partially covered the sky for most of the day. At Jackson Park Golf Course, which is near Lake Michigan, temperatures were 70°-75°. It was not nearly as humid as it was on Saturday, July 26.
Jackson Park Golf Course has three, par five holes; 10, par four holes; and five, par three holes. The longest hole is the 14th—559, average yards from the Blue teeing ground. The shortest hole is the eighth—133, average yards from the Blue Teeing ground.
