Bryan Fischer: Phil Robertson is an anti-gay "American hero"

Todd Starnes was not the only member of the Religious Right who practically had an orgasm at Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson's equation of homosexuality to bestiality.

Unsurprisingly, Bryan Fischer, who may hold the record for the most times spent whining that not being allowed to oppress non-Christians is discriminatory against Christians, had the same reaction.

"Phil Robertson is a new American hero," Fischer declared. "He said exactly what the great majority of Americans believe. Phil Robertson is right. It's a simple matter of plumbing. Easy to figure out what is supposed to go where. And where not."

Back in that thing called reality that Bryan Fischer so greatly detests, 52% of Americans were polled as supporting equal rights for the LGBT community.

Fischer's deplorable math skills are legendary, so it will be understandable if he is not aware that any percentage above 50% qualifies as a majority.

Fischer's "American hero," meanwhile, is already on damage control, saying in a Wednesday statement: "My mission today is to go forth and tell people about why I follow Christ and also what the bible teaches, and part of that teaching is that women and men are meant to be together.

"However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me."

Phil? In what word is comparing someone to a goat humper not disrespectful?
