Like many spokespersons of the Religious Right, Bryan Fischer has constantly demonstrated that he is virtually incapable of considering that anything, anywhere, might have something to do with anything other than what he is obsessing over at the moment.
This time, the event in question is the arrest of India's diplomat, Devyani Khobragade, over charges of visa fraud.
Allegedly, Khobragade falsified documents to report that her nanny, Sangeeta Richard, was earning $4500 monthly when she was instead receiving $573 monthly, far below the hourly $9.75 required by the U.S. government.
Fischer, on the other hand, is not presently obsessing over wage laws. Instead, he is convinced the arrest is "payback" for India's Supreme Court having reinstated an anti-gay law (of which Fischer is a big fan).
"I mean, could you be any more obvious about retaliation or payback," said Fischer.
Unsurprisingly ,Fischer went on to attack Obama for naming openly gay athletes as part of the official presidential delegation to the Winter Olympics, which he called a deliberate "thumb in the eye" to Russia and Vladimir Putin (of whom Fischer is also a big fan).
