Yup. Him again, about this again.
Because the best authoritarian conspiracy theories are the ones that never had any weight to begin with, Bryan Fischer has joined Todd Starnes and Matt Barber and charged that the Armed Forces will use "lethal force" against Christians and Tea Party activists, and may even "surround" the hotel hosting next year's Values Voter Summit.
"The military is being conditioned to use weapons on the American Family Association. The soldiers are being conditioned in their brains to think of evangelicals, Tea Partiers, the American Family Association and the Family Research Council as domestic enemies that may have to be neutralized by lethal force," said Fischer. "The people you got to watch out for, you may have to turn your tanks on, are American Family Association."
Fischer's conspiracy theory is based on a Mississippi training program in which his employer, the American Family Association, were identified as a hate group, and hinges on his ability to convince his listeners that the AFA is representative of all Christians while simultaneously making them forget when was the last time an American hate group was ever addressed militarily.
The AFA has rightly earned its classification, with Fischer having done his part to ensure it with such remarkable gems of bigotry as demanding a ban on all Muslim immigration and arguing in favor of kidnapping the children of same-gender parents.
It was a load of crap every other time Fischer made this allegation, and it hasn't magically stopped being a load of crap since then.
