According to ComicBook.com on Dec. 28, rumors about Bryan Cranston playing Lex Luthor in "Batman vs. Superman" were laid to rest some time ago. Now, "AMC Movie Talk's" John Campea heard from two "untested" sources that Bryan Cranston could be the next DC villain in Zack Snyder's film.
In September, Cranston denied being Lex Luthor and thought the rumors were fueled by the fact that he already had a shaved head as the evil character of Walter White in AMC's "Breaking Bad". So it is understandable how he could be viewed as the DC villain. Cranston also mentioned that though he did desire to play the role of Lex, it seems his wife, who got tired of looking at his bald head while portraying the meth making chemistry teacher on AMC's hit drama, could sway him in the other direction.
Like with most rumors going around the Internet when it comes to actors portraying certain parts, they tend to be fueled by a fan's desire for their favorite actor to play the role. Campea did state that one should take such information with a "grain of salt" as with most Hollywood rumors.
"Batman vs. Superman" opens in theaters on July 15, 2015.
