Brutally cold through Wednesday, then warmer by the end of the week

High pressure will maintain control of our weather through the middle of the week. We will see plenty of sunshine today and Wednesday, but it will be very cold. Wind chills will remain dangerously low through Wednesday morning.

The high pressure system will slide to our east Wednesday night and Thursday, and the return flow on the back side of the high will allow temperatures to begin to moderate.

Here is the forecast: For today, mostly sunny. Highs will be in the low single digits. Winds W 10 mph. Wind chills -20 to -30.

Tonight, clear and cold. Lows -10 to -15. Winds SW 10 mph. Wind chills -25 to -35.

Wednesday, sunny with highs around 10 degrees. Winds SW 10-15 mph. Wind chills -25 to -35.

Wednesday night, mostly clear. Lows will be around 5.

Thursday, partly sunny with highs reaching the low to mid 20s.

Looking ahead: A weak cold front will move across the area Thursday night and Friday, accompanied by a chance of snow. Lows Thursday night will be around 20 with highs on Friday near 30.

Low pressure is forecast to develop and move through the Ohio Valley on Saturday. This system could bring accumulating snow, or possibly even a rain/snow mix to northern Ohio. Highs on Saturday will reach the low to mid 30s.

High pressure is forecast to build back across the state on Sunday with dry weather returning. High temperatures will fall back into the 20s.
