Brutal Legend cover.
Although Brutal Legend did not make the top ten NPD software list for the month of October, the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 title still had a solid debut.
Geoff Keighley revealed on his personal Twitter page that Brutal Legend sold 215,400 copies across both platforms. The Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 game was released on October 13th.

With a break-even number of likely 1.5 - 2m units on this game, Tim Schafer's game career is pretty much dead in the water with this result.
The guy is a genius, but he needs to get into social media games since this industry is now a mug's game.
@ toodles
are you saying Tim should make facebook games
are you crazy or something
Brutal Legend is a solid game it was just to damn short
I really don't understand all of these people saying that brütal legend wasn't "fun" IT WAS FUN AS HELL only the RTS parts sucked
if it was a hack n slash It would be one of my top games of the year
I mean SURE it didn't have Uncharted 2 numbers BUT if Tim made the game a PS3 exclusive then he could of used the blu-ray to make the story longer AND keep the size of the world then we could have had a game of the year instead we got a great game but it's too damn short
I purchased this game just to support creativity in the gaming industry and while it's far from a '10', I'd hoped it sales would be a little stronger. It recieved adequate advertising... maybe a $39 launch would of enticed a few more customers. Hope they eventually sell a mil!
Maybe he should produce a cracked-out cartoon like FPS. Keep the gameplay simple and solid ( a la nintendo) and release it on Live/PSN.
Final though, as much as it pains me to say, I think Mr. Schafers ideal medium has passed us by. His creativity seems ideal for 16-bit games like Earthworm Jim, Boogerman and T.J. and Earl.
this is only usa. in eu it sold a bit more
Brütal Legend is my pick for GOTY and I played Uncharted 2. I love the RTS parts of the game and it was the most creative game I've played in a while. I seen this sales number coming though.

Looks like SOMEBODY forgot to try the amazing multiplayer they worked on for two years!
