Bruno Mars will not be featuring Pharrell Williams as special guest on his upcoming Canadian tour leg. The Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter had tapped Williams to appear on select Moonshine Jungle Tour dates, including appearances in Ottawa, Ontario, Toronto and Montreal.
According to an article posted on July 17 at Pollstar.com, the Emmy nonimated artist has been forced to replace Williams, who has dropped off the hugely successful 155-date trek due to a personal conflict. The Canadian run is slated to kick off July 23 at Montreal's Bell Centre.
Instead of the "Happy" hit maker, Mars will featuring Aloe Blacc, Bebe Rexha and chart-topping Afro/Norwegian pop duo Nico & Vinz on select dates. Aloe Blacc appears July 17-20. Bebe Rexha will support on July 23 in Montreal and Nico & Vinz will guest on the majority of dates from July 24-August 17.
Canadian stops include: July 23 Montreal, P.Q. Bell Centre, July 24 Ottawa, Ont. Canadian Tire Centre, July 26-27 Toronto Air Canada Centre, August 2 Winnipeg, Man. MTS Centre, August 3 Saskatoon, Sask. Credit Union Centre, August 5 Calgary, Alta. Scotiabank Saddledome and August 8 Squamish, B.C. Squamish Valley Music Festival.
Following his Emmy nominated appearance at the 2014 Super Bowl XLVIII Halftime Show in February, Mars has been selling out arenas all over North America. The current leg kicked off May 27 in Fresno, Calif. at Save Mart Center and will wrap up August 17 in Englewood, Colo. at Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre.
Mars' 2014 Super Bowl XLVIII Halftime Show has been nominated in the Emmy category for Outstanding Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Program. The performance beamed around the world is also nominated for Outstanding Lighting Design / Lighting Direction For A Variety Special.
