MTV announced that Bruno Mars has been added to the lineup of entertainmers performing at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, in a statement on August 11, 2011. The star-studded roster of entertainers and presenters includes Selena Gomez, Kim Kardashian, Seth Rogen, Rick Ross, Jonah Hill and Odd Future. The MTV VMA Awards will be held on August 28, 2011 and televised live on MTV.

Bruno Mars has been nominated for four VMA awards, including “Video of the Year.” His year of accomplishments include his multi-platinum certified debut album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, co-writing, producing and performing on the smash-hits B.o.B’s “Nothin’ On You,” Travie McCoy’s “Billionaire” and Cee Lo Green’s “F***k You! (Forget You)” as well as his hit singles, “Just The Way You Are,” “Grenade” and “The Lazy Song.”

Viewers can vote for all general VMA categories by visiting MTV.com online or m.mtv.com on their mobile phone through August 16th. In addition, Best New Artist text voting is open to all wireless carrier subscribers by texting BNA to 66333. Voting for this category continues through the show, live on August 28th.
