Bruno Mars invites Red Hot Chili Peppers to guest during Superbowl set

Bruno Mars will have extra sizzle when he performs during the Super Bowl halftime with the addition of a guest appearance by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

According to an article posted Jan. 10 at, the Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter has invited the Los Angeles funk rockers to join him during his set Feb. 2 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. when he entertains at the U.S. football championship game.

RHCP had already been confirmed to appear in a pre-Super Bowl show in nearby Brooklyn, N.Y for WFAN's "Say Hello to Brooklyn" showcase at the Barclays Center on Feb. 1.

Mars is expected to make the big announcement on Saturday, during the Fox network broadcast of the New Orleans Saints play-off game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Nominated for five Grammys at the upcoming 56th Annual Grammy Awards, the "Just the Way You Are" hitmaker will be bringing his hugely successful AEG Live produced Moonshine Jungle World Tour to Canada in May, 2014 with upcoming stops confirmed in Ottawa, ON, Calgary, AB, Saskatoon, SK, Montreal, QC and Toronto, ON.
