Utah Opera is celebrating its 35th anniversary season this year with some opera favorites. Currently in production is Verdi’s La Traviata—an Italian opera set in Paris. If you’re familiar with Moulin Rouge, you’ll understand this story well as the movie was certainly influenced by it.
The summary by the Utah Opera reads: “This is the story of Violetta, a Parisian courtesan who must battle the twin demons of consumption and a broken heart. Hers is the ultimate operatic life, one filled with grand parties, grander sacrifices, and some of Verdi's most memorable music.”
The final performance of this season’s La Traviata is Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the newly renovated Capitol Theatre. Tickets are still available.
Eva also offers a wonderful brunch menu from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in a bright and happening atmosphere.
So get your tickets, make your brunch reservation and have a delightful Sunday downtown!
