On January 8, Broward County offered pay increases to its workers. This follows years of not offering pay raises and requiring unpaid furloughs. The county provided three percent pay increases over two years,. This decision will benefit 1,000 maintenance workers, electricians, and other working people. Thousands of other county personnel from managers to lower level workers will also receive pay raises, according to County Administrator Bertha Henry, in an article by Brittany Wallman in the Janaury 9 Sun Sentinel.
"This is good news, It help thousands of hard working people who have not seen a pay raise in many years. These people deserve more money for the work they do," said John Angelo, a Miramar resident.
