Working people in Broward County are enjoying better prospects. The Broward County unemployment rate has dropped to 5.8 percent in August, down from 6.2 percent in July and 7.7 percent a year ago, according to an article by Marcia Heroux Pounds in the September 21 Sun Sentinel.
"This is great. I am always glad to see more people working. Because when more people are working, I receive more money at my job. I work as a waitress and I depend on tips," said Carla Rogge.
"I think there will be more opportunities for me. I work in construction and I had some hard years. But now I am getting more offers to work," said Juan Gonzalez.
