The Broward County Public Schools is hosting its ninth Educational Re-Engagement Fair in an ongoing effort to help individuals who left high school before earning a diploma achieve this goal. With the theme, “It’s Not Too Late To Graduate,” the program aims to assist individuals of all ages in meeting the requirements needed to receive their diplomas, according to Nadine Drew, spokesperson for the Broward County School District.
The fair will provide participants with valuable information about education options and training opportunities that meet and fit their specific needs. Assistance, counseling and placement will focus on attaining the high school diploma or GED (general equivalency diploma) needed to connect individuals with post-secondary and career opportunities. Attendees will be able to explore a variety of alternative and non- traditional education programs, including flexible schedules and online courses. Program staff and guidance counselors will be on hand to work with participants in making appropriate choices, according to Drew.
The Re-Engagement Fair event is free and open to the public. There will be refreshments, door prizes and several iPod giveaways, according to Drew.
