According to Tuesday's publication of the Newark Advocate, two brothers in Cleveland, Ohio, have been arrested for allegedly dragging a dog behind a truck.
Cleveland police began searching for the vehicle after several 9-1-1 calls were received about a chained dog behind dragged down the streets behind a pickup - though the officers found the truck in question, they did not find the victimized dog.
Two brothers were arrested and taken to jail, but their names have not yet been released because they have not been charged - animal cruelty and neglect charges are expected later today.
Several other dogs who were living in the backyard of the residence were seized by the authorities. Neighbors expressed surprise that there were allegations of abuse. One neighbor stated:
When he's with his dogs, he feeds them, takes care of them, runs them around that yard. They were well-trained dogs. I can't imagine him doing what people say he did,
The seven dogs seized from the property have been taken into protective custody.
