Brother Trucker will play on the lawn at the Jasper Winery in Des Moines on Thursday, June 12 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Des Moines’ Brother Trucker has released four roots rock albums, and they have become a Central Iowa staple. Their most recent release, The Flyover, came out in 2008. The performance is part of the Jasper Winery Summer Concert Series. The concert is free and open to the public, and food, wine, and other beverages will be available for purchase. Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult. The winery has limited seating available, so they recommend that patrons bring blankets and lawn chairs. For more information on Jasper Winery events, check out their website.

The Gas Lamp in Des Moines will host a June Jam and Open Mic event tomorrow night at 9 p.m. The event will be hosted by the Des Moines acoustic cover band Naughty Mogwai. Naughty Mogwai is the side project of Bright Giant's Josh Davis. Naughty Mogwai will be taking over Thursday nights at the Gas Lamp for the foreseeable future. Jump up on stage and join the band on covers of your favorite songs. The event is free, and you must be 21 or older to attend.
