The Nets learned Monday that starting guard MarShon Brooks is out indefinitely with a broken toe on his right foot.
This announcement comes after Brooks had returned from a sore Achilles tendon last night in a 94-73 loss to the Toronto Raptors.
The Nets have no timetable for his return.
The Nets are still going to be without Brook Lopez for a while. Avery Johnson said that Lopez is "not close" to returning.
Additional injuries include DeShawn Stevenson and Mehmet Okur.
Okur is dealing with back spasms while Stevenson had his right knee drained. Stevenson missed all but 14 seconds of the third quarter Sunday night after a collision with Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan out by the three-point line.
Okur and Stevenson are valuable role players, but role players nonetheless.
Brooks is a crushing loss to a team that sat on the periphery of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Brooks is second on the team in scoring with 14.8 ppg. Deron Williams leads the team with 19.6 ppg
The rookie will see a foot specialist and is doubtful to play Wednesday at home against the Pistons. He, along with Stevenson and Okur, will miss the road game Tuesday against the Pacers.
