Five people were stabbed to death in Brooklyn on Saturday, all from the same family. The victims are a mother and her four children, with the youngest being only 18-months old, according to Reuters on Oct. 27.
A man at the scene was taken in for questioning, but he has not been arrested. Police responded to a 911 call on Saturday night and arrived at a home in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park neighborhood to find a gruesome murder scene of two boys, two girls and their mother, all with multiple stab wounds.
Three of the children were pronounced dead on the scene, but the mother and one of her sons were taken to the hospital, where they died shortly after arriving. The victims were identified as William Zhuo, 1, Kevin Zhuo, 5, Amy Zhuo, 7, Linda Zhuo, 9, and Qiao Zhen Li, 37.
The New York Daily News reports that the father of this family came home from work while the police were there. He fell apart when he was told the news that his entire family was stabbed to death. He was beyond distraught, as you would imagine, after being told his family was gone. His cries were heard through the crowd at his very dark and morbid scene.
There is no word on who the man is that police found in the home when they arrived. His relationship to the family is not known. He was taken into custody and is being questioned, but he has not been arrested. Police will not say if this unnamed person is a suspect or not and they declined to discuss a motive for his killing.
