The “New Day New Opportunity” event had been created after James and his business partner Ashton Robertson received numerous requests for referrals and “hook ups.”

“Let’s have an event. Throw everybody in one room and see what happens. And this is what happens- we got everything you can think of here,” said James in a February 2014 interview on Harambeeworks.com

Dedicated to providing opportunities for business to business networking, James has made it a point to keep his events free for attendees. This strategy has brought his events to boast in excess of nearly 300 people. This strategy also allows attendees to support the featured vendors displaying and selling goods, therefore growing the business of someone else.

For over 20 years James has worked within the entertainment industry in marketing and promotions. At the age of 18 he and his friends had created a company that would spearhead marketing and promotional campaigns for events and artist.

Not a stranger to bringing big crowds together, James' social events have included a 700 person party in Grenada, infamously themed dance parties throughout New York and popular get-a-ways to Caribbean carnivals in Canada, Boston and Miami.

James is also a successful television producer. In 1998 James and his partners created a community based Afro-Caribbean variety show on Brooklyn Community Access Television (BCAT) titled International Flavors Television (IFTV). In less than two years, IFTV expanded its airtime within New York’s five boroughs on WXNY Channel 26 to include communities in Queens, Manhattan and the Bronx.

The program included interviews with popular celebrities and established entrepreneurs including the entertainment mogul Russell Simmons, legendary DJs Red Alert, Kool Herk (the founder of hip hop), popular artists Wyclef Jean, 50 Cent, Buster Rhymes, Jay Z and legendary songstress Dionne Warrick. Multimillionaire giants of urban clothing FUBU, reggae superstars: Shaggy, Sean Paul, Beenie man, Buju Banton, Shabba Ranks, Kamani Marley, Machel Montano and many others have been on IFTV.

By 2002, James established IF Radio (International Flavors Radio) through on Medgar Evers College Radio and expanded the audience to Long Island, St. Martin (French section), Kingston-Jamaica and Georgetown-Guyana, Cincinnati-Ohio and Washington DC. By 2004, IFTV had reached a combined viewing audience of over 3.5 million nationally and internationally.

Combining his experiences and developed relationships in business and in friendships, James has harnessed the attention and respect among minority owned small businesses successfully thriving in New York’s current economy. This has ultimately resulted in him becoming one of New York best in business to business network marketers.

James also utilizes local venues to hosts the networking event. Venues have included –Brooklyn’s Rustik Tavern in Clinton Hills, and Fashion Rock located in the Bedford Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn.

Recently James hosted an April mixer at Fashion Rock on 372 Tompkins Ave with co-host Bobby Simmons from the legendary hip hop band- Stetsasonic and Lyne.
