Die hard pizza fans all over Brooklyn aren’t buying reports that their favorite Midwood pizzeria is unsafe to eat at. “We love Dom and we love his pizza!” says one Di Fara faithful.
DiFara’s was shuttered last week by the Department of Health after failing a recent health inspection. Actually, since the new grading system was put into place, 286 restaurants have been closed down in the past two months. Di Fara’s, however, is the only one gaining media attention for it.
That is most likely because it is one of the only pizzeria’s in the entire city that boasts fans so loyal, they will wait up to two hours for a pie.
“The DOH is always on his case. I don’t care what violations they gave him, I am still eating there,” said one fan.
“Dom is a living legend,” added another.
The restaurant’s facebook page has been showered with comments from fans showing their support.
“Nothing can stop us from eating that pizza!”
“It’s very easy to get closed down by the Board of Health,” Dom DeMarco Jr. told the NY Daily News. “Any little thing can get you a few points. They add up. ”
Things like flour on an apron and an open window are some of those little things.
“Sometimes when this happens, he sees it as a little bit of a break,” he added.
Hopefully not too long of a break…the fans are waiting!
