It wasn't the playoffs on Friday, November 1, 2013 between the Brooklyn Nets and the Miami Heat, but it sure seemed like it. This game has been one of the most exciting games thus far this season with the Nets newcomers Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett going against the splinters in their fingers for the last three years, Lebron James and the Miami Heat.
Despite trailing in all four quarters, Miami almost made an epic comeback as they did in last year finals against the San Antonio Spurs. The only thing is they pulled out the win in that game. They didn't have that success this time around. With 18 seconds left, Miami had cut the lead down by one point making the score 99-98 after Lebron James hit a three point shot from the left corner.
Later Chris Bosh was fouled and he received two free throw shots. He made them both, but the Nets quickly got the ball in bounds before any of the Miami players could foul any Nets' players.
Brooklyn held their own challenging Miami well defensively and offensively. One great defensive highlight of the game was Paul Pierce blocking one of Lebron James shot.
So, are the Brooklyn Nets a contending team? It seems very promising that they are if they continue to score a high percentage of points and play good all around defense.
