Enjoy a trio of Christmas holiday events for all ages in the borough of Brooklyn that include “Unto Us A Child Is Born (U2U),” a Christmas production; “Christmas in the Park” with Mount Pisgah Baptist Church; and a one-day holiday sale and reception, co-convened by the Freedom Initiative, The Christian Times and others. The seasonal festivities started Thursday evening at 7 p.m. and end on Tuesday, Dec. 24. Check the details below and mark your calendars to remember and experience these sure to be memorable Christmas events.

U2U 2013

Synergism Dance Company and Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church present “Unto Us A Child Is Born,” the beloved nativity story of Mary, Joseph and Jesus with a modern day twist. This annual production will be held at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 212 Tompkins Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11216.

Thursday, Dec. 19 @ 7 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 20 @ 7 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 21 @ 4 p.m.

Tickets are available for $15 ONLINE and at George H. Murray Preparatory Academy School, 760 Dekalb Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11216. School office hours: Tuesday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.


Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church invites all who will to join them for church at the Herbert Von King Park Amphitheatre in celebration of Jesus, the reason for the season. “Christmas in the Park” will convene for three evenings of music, dance, spoken word, and refreshments. Formerly known as Tompkins Park, the location is at Lafayette and Tompkins Aves.

The one hour holiday services will be held at 5:30 p.m. sharp each evening on:

Monday, Dec. 23

Tuesday, Dec.24

Attendees are instructed to dress warm and bring a blanket and pillow.


The Christian Times announces a special sale and reception, supporting our local businesses on Saturday, December 21, 2013 from 3 - 5 p.m. Sales floor is opened to the general public from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. Call 718-638-6397 to RSVP.
