“Army Wives” will be starting its seventh season next month and Brooke Shields has just been added to their growing cast. Deadline just announced on Jan. 24 that the actress will have a recurring role on the fan favorite Lifetime series.
Shields will play the role of Katherine “Kat” Young, a cocky but brilliant Air Force Colonel who will butt heads with General Holden (Brian McNamara) right off the bat. She brings with her a tragic past, which might be the one thread that those two have in common. The “Suddenly Susan” actress has most recently been seen in “Nip/Tuck” and “The Middle.”
There will be a host of new wives on the Lifetime drama this upcoming season. It was just announced a few weeks ago that the addition of three new regulars, Ashanti, Elle McLemore and Torrey Devitto (The Vampire Diaries), will be heading to Fort Marshall. Singer Jesse McCartney will also be on recurring status as Private Tim Truman, who is described as eager to prove himself on his first deployment. He will have an 11-episode arc.
Kim Delaney, who has been with the show since day one and has been the heart of this beloved series, is departing her role as Claudia Joy Holden. Regulars Sally Pressman and Sterling K. Brown are also going to recurring. With all of the comings and goings this season, it will certainly be a major change for fans of the show.
Are you looking forward to having Brooke Shields as part of the cast?
