Brooke Mueller will be released from rehab in the next two weeks, according to Radar Online on Sep. 19. The ex-wife and mother of actor Charlie Sheen’s twin sons Bob and Max has been in treatment since May following an apparent overdose of crystal meth.
“Brooke will be released in the next two weeks,” a source close to the socialite tells the website. “She is in a really good place right now, and is ready to resume her life with the boys. When she returns home, she will have a sober living companion with her for the first month.”
“She felt she needed the extra level of care as she transitioned back.”
Brooke will reportedly return to Beverly Hills where she will be randomly drug tested. However, she will not regain custody of her children just yet.
Bob and Max – who are currently in the care of Charlie’s second wife, “Twisted” star Denise Richards – will remain with the actress until a judge determines the boys should live with their mother again.
“There has to be a prolonged period of time of sobriety once she leaves rehab,” sources tell the website.
Brooke “will appear in front of the judge to discuss her progress in her recovery, and the next steps as far as custody of the boys will proceed,” another insider reveals. “It’s looking like if Brooke stays on track, she could get the boys back by Christmas.”
