Brooke Hogan, daughter of pro wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, is getting married. On tonight's episode of TNA Impact, the blonde beauty got engaged to wrestler Bully Ray. The two have been having an on screen romance for the last couple of months. Although the engagement, and subsequent marriage, is merely part of a storyline, it has nonetheless garnered much needed attention for the second rate company. Since it's birth in 2002, TNA Wrestling has been trying to find it's niche in the world of sports entertainment. The Brooke Hogan marriage is a mere piece of the most recent puzzle that has been getting put together.
When Brooke Hogan arrived in TNA Wrestling, she was met with mixed reactions. Initially anointed the director of the Knockouts Division, Brooke Hogan took up valuable television time, but rarely did more than announce a match or two. However, she did appear on a few television shows and was able to bring more eyes to the show. So an argument on both sides seems legitimate. Here most recent storyline has given here a larger presence on screen, leading some to complain about nepotism running wild in TNA Impact Wrestling.
This isn't the first time nepotism has been brought up. The son of Eric Bischoff, Garrett, was involved in a main event storyline with his father and Hulk Hogan last year. Fans worldwide panned the feud and often jeered the younger Bischoff at television tapings. It should be noted that Garrett plays a smaller role in TNA right now. He is playing a second or third string character player in the Aces and Eights angle.
Though fans may rolls their eyes at the engagement of Brooke Hogan and Bully Ray, the truth is, at least its interesting and has people talking. And when people start talking, they start tuning in. Though the marriage will not be as romantic as Miss Elizabeth and the Macho Man, it will probably make for interesting television. Maybe curiosity will get the best of wrestling fans next week, and TNA will get their highest audience of all time. only time will tell.
