The bay loses one of it's most colorful sirens, as the beatbox/looping/vocal jazz pioneer, Brooke D., leaves her origins and first home in the bay, Pacific Northwest bound. Dabalos has been charming the bay area scene since 2008, with her adventurous, eclectic, albeit heart-shuddering musical talents. Brooke D. will be joined by at-this-time unknown musical guests

But Ms. Dabalos will not leave her hometown empty-handed. As she prepares her relocation to the Portland, Oregon area, she'll have one last headlining hurrah at Art Boutiki (44 Race St. San Jose) on June 14th. In support, Sacramento's Cave Women, Pinoy rockers Skyflakes and local talent, Against Reality, take the stage. The $10 all-ages show starts at 7:30pm.

In preparation for her send-off, Brooke D comes full-circle, returning to the ivories for one last cantation. "Alright With Me"is a solemn surrender, an enchanting ballad of acceptance, reminiscence and beauty. She plans to continue her career in Portland, and leaves her birth city with these words:

"The Bay Area has been a fantastic place for me to grow and evolve as a person and artist in my early life, and I will continue to come back since it is home . . . I have immense gratitude for the connections, experiences, and friendships that have been cultivated and explored in California, and will keep those sacred. There's only more exploration and expansion to come in this life, and I'm beginning a new path that's part of that journey."
