‘Dancing With the Stars’ host and exercise diva, Brooke Burke, 41, is confirming that she is officially cancer-free after undergoing a thyroidectomy on December 6th. The mother of four made her first appearance since her surgery on Good Morning America on Tuesday looking beautiful and proudly showing the scar on her neck.
“I’m one of the lucky ones,” said Burke. “It was shocking. I never thought I would hear the word cancer in relation to myself.” She went on to explain, “The message really is about preventative health because I had no symptoms. And generally with thyroid cancer, it’s very subtle symptoms. I went for a regular physical. Fortunately I did a lot of research and I knew that the prognosis for thyroid cancer is really excellent. I knew I was going to be OK.”
Back in November through a three-minute video that she posted on her website, Brooke Burke revealed her battle with thyroid cancer. She wanted to be open and honest with her fans about what she was going through, “I didn’t want anybody to read about it and get the wrong idea or think that I’m sick because I’m not. I feel really good. And I’ve actually, I’ve never felt better. I’m going to deal with it and I’m going to be fine.”
Not only did she look fit and fabulous in her low-cut pink dress during her Good Morning America appearance, she is back to work. Brooke Burke has shared her secrets on workout DVD’s in the past. And now is coming out with two new workouts that she promoted on the show called Brooke Burke Body: 30 Slim Down and Sexy Abs. She said, “I feel great.”
