Brooke Burke-Charvet, a co-host of Dancing With the Stars, had surgery last week to treat thyroid cancer, a thyroidectomy. E!online reports on their website earlier today, December 12, 2012, that Brooke is now cancer-free.
Brooke, 41, received her post-surgery report that states that she is now cancer-free, including all lymph nodes.
Brooke will be off for the rest of the year recovering from surgery and enjoying her four children during the holiday season. She states that the thyroid cancer gave her a whole new outlook on life and she will always have a respect for life after her experience.
Brooke, who currently co-hosts the hit show Dancing With the Stars, was a former host for E!'s Wild On.
Brooke has been documenting her thyroid cancer experience on her blog, ModernMom since she learned she had thyroid cancer. Be sure to read all about her journey with thyroid cancer, from the beginning to becoming cancer free. It's a wonderful resource for anyone just finding out they have thyroid cancer.
Tune in next spring to catch Brooke on Season 16 of Dancing With the Stars on ABC.
