“Dancing With the Stars” is going through another major change in the line-up this year. This time, executives fired Brooke Burke-Charvet without warning. Conrad Green confirms the news to Us Weekly on Feb 22, 2014.
Conrad said in this statement, "She's been a wonderful part of the "Dancing with the Stars" family since her triumphant win in season seven and will unquestionably be missed by our entire team. We'd like to thank Brooke for her years of great service."
Brooke tweeted her reaction when she learned that they eliminated her. "Weird day…Shocking pre-season elimination #DWTS…ME. @Tom_Bergeron didn't even read my name. I won't be returning to the show this season." She went on to say that she loved dancing, and she’s looking forward to the next chapter of her life.
Brooke was a contestant the first time she appeared on "DWTS." Brooke and her dance partner, Derek Hough, competed in “DWTS” for Season 7. In 2008, they won the mirror ball trophy. In Season 10, she took over Samantha Harris' position to become a co-host.
Brooke released this statement to E!, "I have enjoyed seven seasons co-hosting DWTS but understand the need for change considering the position of the show at this juncture. I've always been one to embrace change and looking forward to pursuing opportunities I previously wasn't able to entertain because of contractual obligations to the show. I've seen my fair share of shocking eliminations in the ballroom but this one takes the cake."
“Dancing with the Stars” has undergone some major changes. Earlier this month, executives fired Harold Wheeler and his 28-member orchestra. Harold and his orchestra have been with the show since the beginning. Ray Chew has been hired to replace Harold.
