Could this be true? Yes, Brooke Burke-Charvet, actress and model, was unexpectedly fired as co-host of Dancing with the Stars after 8 seasons on the show. Over the weekend, news broke through a statement from the executive producer shocking not only viewers but Burke-Charvet herself.
“We can confirm that Brooke Burke-Charvet will not be joining us next season. She’s been a wonderful part of the Dancing with the Stars family since her triumphant win in season seven and will unquestionably be missed by our entire team. We’d like that thank Brooke for her years of great service,” explained Conrad Green.
Shortly after this news broke on Saturday, Burke-Charvet, 42, spoke out via Twitter saying, “Weird day…shocking pre-season elimination #DWTS…ME. @Tom_Bergeron didn’t even read my name. I won’t be returning to the show this season.” Later adding, “Thanks for all the love and support. I loved my time in the ballroom and I’ll love my next chapter too. Change is positive. Love you guys!”
Burke-Charvet is a veteran of the ABC show winning the competition along with partner Derek Hough in season 7, taking home the mirror ball trophy back in 2008. She then was offered the opportunity to co-host season 10 with Tom Bergeron, who’s been there since the show started.
It was only about a year ago that Burke-Charvet, mother of four, was diagnosed and successfully beat thyroid cancer. She revealed the battle with her fans through a video on her website to bring awareness and attention to preventative health. Learn more about this here.
