One of the big games on the 2013 NFL Week 2 schedule today will feature the Denver Broncos taking on the New York Giants and in case you didn’t know it, the starting quarterbacks for both teams are brothers!
Okay, bad sarcasm.
Peyton Manning will lead his high-flying Broncos into New York to take on younger brother Eli and the Giants later today in “Manning Bowl III.”
According to a Washington Post Sept 15 report, Peyton has yet to lose to his little brother Eli. In 2006, Peyton led the Colts to a 26-21 at Giants Stadium and in 2010, Peyton threw for three TDs as the Colts crushed the G-Men 38-14 in Indianapolis. Is the third time the charm for Eli and the Giants when it comes to beating Peyton Manning?
Win or lose, Eli is ready and excited for the challenge.
"It's still neat because it doesn't happen very often and it is neat seeing your big brother on the sideline or seeing him before the game," the Giants quarterback said." Those moments are the things you remember and we'll remember for a long time. Hopefully when I think back on these games that we played against my brother, I can think back and remember at least one win."
Eli has a point.
It must be a pretty special thing to make it to the pros and get to play against your brother, but make no mistake – the Giants want to win this game badly! Smiles aside, these brothers want to beat each other and help their team make the postseason.
The Vegas odds makers think Peyton once again has the upper hand on Eli as Denver is a 4 point favorite over the Giants. The G-men are a tricky bunch to read though. Every time the Giants look awful, they seem to bounce back. They are also a good team at home when they are an under dog.
