Manning threw his 51st touchdown in a single season, along with throwing for 400 yards in the Broncos 37-13 victory over the Texans.
"I think it's a unique thing and a neat thing to be a part of NFL history, even though it may be temporary," Manning said. "So I'm going to enjoy it as long as it lasts, and hopefully the Hall of Fame will send the ball back once somebody throws for more. I'm sure Brady will break it next season or two. So I'll enjoy it for now."
After a 3-3 tie in the first quarter, the Broncos sprinted out to a 10-3 lead in the second quarter, thanks to a 36 yard touchdown from Manning to Demaryius Thomas.
The only highlight for the Texans was a third quarter 15 yard touchdown pass from Matt Schaub to Keshawn Martin. Texans trailed the Broncos 16-13.
With less than seven minutes left in the fourth quarter, Manning threw a 20 yard pass to Eric Decker for the touchdown that tied Tom Brady's 2007 single season record at 50 touchdowns.
With 4:28 left Manning launched a pass to Julius Thomas for the record breaking touchdown with 51.
"I came back to the sidelines and I'm sitting down on the bench and somebody said: 'That was the one,' " Thomas said. "Maybe I shouldn't have dropped it so carelessly, I should have kept it."
Manning set a previous record with 49 touchdowns in a season back in 2004 as a member of the Indianapolis Colts.
"The guy is a great quarterback, obviously," Houston interim coach Wade Phillips said. "The last one, I was surprised that they threw it deep late in the game, but that's part of football."
Eric Decker finished the day with 10 receptions for 131 yards and two touchdowns. Wes Welker missed his second game due to concussion symptoms. Scheduled to return to the line up next week in the final regular season game.
Andre Johnson completed 4 catches for 63 yards which put him over 100 catches for the season for the fifth time in his illustrious career.
Peyton Manning finished 32/51 with four touchdown in the win.
Matt Schaub finished 18/37 with one touchdown and 2 INT's in the loss.
The Texans will play their final game on the road against AFC South opponent in the Tennessee Titans.
With the victory the Broncos clinched another AFC West title and a first round bye in the playoffs.
