Washington DC looks more and more like a banana republic.
The irony of this is that United states has been the number one export of democracy and how it works. But after the last three weeks of wrangling over the budget and debt ceiling deadline nobody is going to take USA serious, and(may be) has lost the moral authority to lead.
For congress to openly spill their vile against party affiliation without regard of their constituents who elected them to safeguard their interests and the country, rather than fight to fulfill and show their political mogul financiers the value of their dollar - is equivalent and tantamount to corruption as in the third world politics.
Washington DC is not only the capital of United States, but the whole world as well, especially in the financial sector. All governments around the world watch keenly to see what is happening in United State before they tweak their financial policies , other than Putin. Moreover, UN is located in USA and its charter delineates four main purposes: to maintain international peace and security, to develop friendly co-operation between countries, to solve international problems and respect all human rights, and to serve as a focal point for all peaceful national activities. How can you maintain this tenets when the custodians in proxy are feuding with no security?
It’s obvious there is no peace between Democrats and Republicans, yet they’re all Americans tied under one Spangled banner of freedom and liberty. How can you vilify each other as if you belong to some deep seeded tribal rivalry aging back to stone age vendettas? Well, the premise that Americans has a short span memory to remember this in 2014 election is nonsense. This time around the stage is set by the progressive college grads and those unemployed after spending tons of school loans to pursue American dream to no avail will have the last word for these lousy politicians. Yes, it's a turning point for politics in United States as we know it. For much too long loudest politicians have behaved and acted like tribal spokesmen, especially the Tea Party and extreme Liberals. Both have no moral ground to galvanize the center to reflect United States, their agenda is self-centered and not inclusive. It’s fair to remind this goons that United States, with or without them must sustain moral authority around the globe. Piecemeal politics won’t work within the frontiers. And just being the loudest gong within the gang is no politics, and definitely not leadership. Good leadership is to be a follower with astute eye and mind for all.
It is not right for any elected political official in United States congress to vilify a president regardless of the angle of political inclination or affiliation. If legitimately elected, sworn into office, insults and demeaning language is trimmed. The office of the president of United States is revered. Utterances like those witnessed at Vets gathering at Washington DC, "he(president Obama) is not our president, his their president, we need to start non-violent revolution," one spokesman said. Same rally Senator Cruz was in attendance. This kind of talk is rampart in the third world colloquial politics or banana republics.
Enough of this partisan brinkmanship, bring back some civility at the people’s capital, the mother of all democracy.
