How tragic for this mother dog who recently gave birth to a litter of puppies. Even worse, someone dismissed her as yesterday's trash when she was picked up as a stray by Lancaster Animal Care Center in Lancaster, Calif. It seems her former owner wanted the pups, but not their mother.
Look in her eyes; a truly defeated and petrified dog left on death row because of an irresponsible human. She is extremely emaciated and still lactating.
This two-year-old female pit bull mix hasn't been spayed; a sad tale of more puppies in the world to wind up just like their mother.
Humane supporters are trying to find this dog a home; social media has been spreading her story, but no one has yet to step up for A4627588.
No one has even given her a name, and if she is not adopted by Sept. 8, her kennel L202 will be vacant by Sept. 9 for she will be euthanized.
With nearly 8,000 shares, and exchanges, a safe spot still has not been procured.
An evaluation of her temperament is scheduled within the next few days.
If interested in adopting this dog, because she is part pit bull, adopters are required to personally appear at the shelter and be interviewed.
Please share this emotional story with your friends, coworkers, and relatives. Let's help this young dog have a future filled with love, care, and dignity.
